The wild rose is also known as the dog rose and was named thus according to the Roman naturalist Pliny because the plant’s root could cure the bite of a mad dog, also its prickles are sharp and look like canine teeth. It is associated with love and beauty, and in German folklore its fruits are used by the fairfolk to make themselves invisible.

I love words, rhymes, vowel sounds, curves and lines. I’ve spent a long time travelling the landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes of fairytales and folklore, looking for the magic key, word, charm, animal friends who’ll help me along.

This place on the web is a space for sharing stories, memories, ancient histories, tales and yarns. And journeys taken living in the heart.
